In Minnesota, a Candidate Worthy of Your Support: Jason Lewis

Nowadays, every House and Senate contest is a national race. No matter where you live, the election of conservative candidates nationwide is important to you. Which is why you should care about this year’s race in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District.

The seat has been held by Republican John Kline for some years. He is retiring, and the Democrats are determined to pick off the open seat. The 2nd has become a swing district. Barack Obama carried it in 2012, and the Democrats will nominate a far-left candidate in hopes that she will join Nancy Pelosi in forwarding a liberal agenda. The 2nd is winnable, but only if Republicans put up a strong candidate.

Which brings us to my friend Jason Lewis. Jason is a businessman and radio talk show host who has, among other things, regularly guest hosted for Rush Limbaugh. He is a solid conservative who can be counted on, not just to talk a good game during election season, but to follow through once he gets into office.

A few days ago I tracked Jason down for a quick interview, around six minutes. Please listen, as it gives you a good sense of Lewis the conservative and Lewis the candidate:

Five Republicans have announced for the seat, but in my judgment, only Jason is a good bet to keep it in the GOP column. With five contestants in the race, nomination is not a sure thing. Early money, any candidate will tell you, counts the most. So I urge you to go to Jason Lewis 2016 and contribute what you can. If the Second Amendment is important to you, I note that John Lott has recorded a video enthusiastically endorsing Jason.

Every Congressional seat is important, and I think we need Jason Lewis to hold this one. More significantly, I can vouch for the fact that he won’t go native when he gets to Washington. If you can help him–and thereby help all of us–I hope you will.
