Corrections of the day [Updated With One More]

The total area of Minnesota is not quite 87,000 square miles. The total area of the United States is not quite 3,800,000 square miles. The numbers provide useful context to my nomination for the correction of the day.

Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is one of the wonders of the state and the subject of Porter Fox’s interesting New York Times travel article “On the water, and into the wild.” The Times has posted this correction to the story: “An earlier version of this article misstated the size of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. It is 1.1 million acres, not 1.1 million square miles.”

In their daily round-up of top political stories, the folks at Politico identify the second correction to this New York Times story as the correction of the day: “An earlier version of the article quoted the motto on Cary Darling’s T-shirt incorrectly; it says ‘Make my diaper great again,’ not ‘Make diapers great again.’”

We report, you decide.

UPDATE by JOHN: I sat on this for a couple of days without posting it, but it makes a good update to this post. There is a new Amazon series called “Goliath,” which apparently has to do with the law business. The New York Times’s television critic, Mike Hale, reviewed the first two episodes of the new series on October 13. The plot, as described by Hale, was confusing. It turns out that there is a reason for that:

Correction: October 18, 2016

A television review on Friday about the new Amazon series “Goliath” included an inaccurate discussion of the show’s plot structure. The critic mistakenly watched the first two episodes out of order.

You had just one job…
