Colin Kaepernick, Political Commentator

Colin Kaepernick is a once-promising quarterback whose career has gone into the toilet–although, to be fair, he currently is starting for the San Francisco 49ers, the second-to-worst team in the NFL. These days, Kaepernick is known mostly for kneeling during the national anthem as a show of anti-Americanism. Beyond that, he is a garden-variety ignorant leftist.

Kaepernick once wore a shirt featuring an image of Fidel Castro, and he praised the dictator in an interview just hours before his death. Moreover, the 49ers played in Miami today. So naturally reporters asked his views of the Communist dictator. Kaepernick explained that he only supported the good parts of Castro’s reign of terror:

“I agree with the investment in education,” Kaepernick said. “I also agree with the investment in free universal health care, as well as the involvement with him in helping end apartheid in South Africa. I would hope that everyone believes those things are good things. Trying to push the false narrative that I was a supporter of the oppressive things that he did is just not true.”

Apart from mass murder, imposition of a police state, deprivation of all freedom, and grinding poverty inflicted on pretty much everyone not related to Fidel, there were things to admire about his seemingly-endless tyranny! These are, of course, the words of a moron.

But being a leftist means that you will always be treated with a certain respect by the media. Thus, the Associated Press spins Kaepernick’s season in much the same way the the quarterback spun Castro’s regime:

He also has gone 0-6 as a starter, but the latest game might have been his best yet.

That’s a pretty low bar, but hey: one of these days, they might actually win! It’s a bit like socialism, which has failed 50 or so times in a row, but have the media given up on it? Of course not.
