You voted for Trump? No heat for you this winter

President Obama denounces “hyper-partisanship,” so maybe our commentator-in-chief will have something to say about this story:

An owner of a propane dealership in Maine is refusing to deliver gas to anyone who voted for President-elect Donald Trump.

Michael Turner, owner of Turner LP Gas in Skowhegan, Maine, recorded a voice mail greeting that leaves little question as to his feelings for those in his community who supported Trump.

“Thank you for calling Turner LP gas. If you voted for Donald Trump for president I will no longer be delivering your gas — please find someone else,” the message states.

You almost have to admire the courage of Turner’s conviction. According to Edmund Kozak of PoliZette, Turner operates in a county that that overwhelmingly supported Trump. The president-elect won Somerset County, Maine by 58-35.

That’s a lot of customers to thumb one’s nose at.

Kozak points to another case in which a vendor refused to service Trump voters. in late November, Mathew Blanchfield, CEO of an Albuquerque, New Mexico-based marketing firm, issued a statement saying he would no longer work with Trump supporters.

By marketing is one thing; heating is another. As Kozak says, average temperatures during the winter where Turner operates are firmly below freezing, with an average high of 31 degrees in December, 26 degrees in January, and 30 in February according to Intellicast.

Thus, to refuse to deliver gas in Maine during the winter could, for many, create a serious problem. Absent a reliable local alternative, it could be life-threatening for senior citizens.

Like many a leftist, Turner seems like someone who loves mankind, but can’t stand people — or at least people who disagree with his politics.

JOHN adds: Here, for your listening pleasure, is the audio:

As Paul notes, the county where this guy does business went heavily for Donald Trump. But it’s probably worse than that; if you think of the profile of a typical LP gas user, I doubt that more than a small minority were Hillary Clinton voters.
