How low can the Times go? Michael Oren explains

Our friend Hugh Hewitt invited Michael Oren to appear his radio show this morning to discuss the New York Times op-column by Marwan Barghouti that I noted yesterday in “How low can the Times go?” Oren is the Israeli historian, author, politician, former ambassador to the United States, and current member of the Knesset for the Kulanu party as well as the Deputy Minister for Diplomacy in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Hugh has posted the transcript of the interview here and a recording of the segment here. Oren adds depth, context and anger to my brief post yesterday. If only the Times were capable of feeling shame, this interview would induce it. If only.

Oren cites his highly illuminating memoir Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide a couple of times in the course of the interview. I cannot recommend the book (or Oren’s other books) highly enough. We interviewed Oren about the book in the Power Line podcast posted here. This past Saturday the Wall Street Journal published Oren’s column “Iran is a bigger threat than Syria and North Korea combined” (behind the Journal’s subscription paywall).
