VIP Live Event on Wednesday!

On Wednesday at 7 p.m. Central we will do a live event for Power Line VIPs. If you have signed up for the VIP program (at only $4 a month or $40 a year!) you will get an email containing a YouTube link that allows you to attend the event. You can also ask questions or make comments. We are hoping–health and technology permitting–that Norman Podhoretz will join us as a guest.

Speaking of the benefits of VIP membership, apart from supporting this site and getting rid of most ads, VIPs received by email this morning a link to Steve Hayward’s hour-long lecture on substantive due process, one of the thorniest issues in constitutional law. Or, as Steve shows, one of the thorniest complexes of issues. The lecture, which was prepared for Steve’s constitutional law class at Berkeley, is both erudite and entertaining. And the history of substantive due process is so tangled (Steve says that his lectures trace the rise, fall, and rise of the doctrine) that this lecture is just Part 1. Part 2 is yet to come.

To become a VIP, just click on the blue box at the top of the right sidebar.
