Loose Ends (176)

A few stray notes from the pub while a line of rain passes through. . .

So the Feds have stepped in and slapped more serious criminal charges on the Democratic nutjob who assaulted New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin after local officials filed minor charges released the perp hours after his arrest. Likely someone high up in the White House recognized what a bad look it is for Democrats’ national effort to look “tough on crime” ahead of the mid-term elections.

Speaking of which: spotted on the hiking trail yesterday:

An omen? Is “high risk of rockfall” a euphemism for “mid-term elections”?

Big surprise: The World Health Organization has announced that Monkeypox is a “global health emergency.” And yet in the “History Repeats Itself Department,” the dominant method of spreading Monkeypox reminds of our first politicized epidemic a few decades back. Even the New York Times has to report that “Nearly all the infections outside Africa have occurred among men who have sex with men.”

Well, the rain has stopped and my pint glass is empty. So back to the scene:

Adam Smith. Conehead.
