Biden adopts the Hamas line

We have traced President Biden’s retreat from the public defense of Israel in its war on Hamas to his adoption of the Hamas line. He has now taken up the strategery of Dr. Jill to demand an immediate ceasefire.

The White House readout of Biden’s call yesterday with Prime Minister Netanyahu has Biden demanding Israel’s agreement to Hamas’s terms:

[Biden] made clear the need for Israel to announce and implement a series of specific, concrete, and measurable steps to address civilian harm, humanitarian suffering, and the safety of aid workers. He made clear that U.S. policy with respect to Gaza will be determined by our assessment of Israel’s immediate action on these steps. He underscored that an immediate ceasefire is essential to stabilize and improve the humanitarian situation and protect innocent civilians, and he urged the Prime Minister to empower his negotiators to conclude a deal without delay to bring the hostages home.

Secretary of State Blinken added a twist in his press conference yesterday. He declared that Israel risks becoming indistinguishable from Hamas — not that there’s anything wrong with that for you Hamas supporters out there.

As I say, we have seen this coming for a while now. Matt Continetti does a good job of describing the culmination of this week’s events in Biden’s demands yesterday. Last night the Free Beacon posted Matt’s column “Biden Loses the Plot on Israel.”
