Trump Made Them Do It!

This morning’s New York Times email tells its subscribers that Russia and China are rooting for Donald Trump to win the 2024 presidential election:

America’s biggest adversaries evidently want Donald Trump to win the 2024 presidential election.

Vladimir Putin’s preference for Trump has long been clear. And now China’s government is taking steps to help Trump’s presidential campaign.

The idea that either Russia or China prefers Trump to Joe Biden, who has allowed U.S. military strength to decay as the armed forces pursue a woke agenda, is absurd. The Times claims that Trump is an “America first” isolationist. But while “America first” may have meant isolation in the 1930s, that isn’t what Trump and his supporters mean by it now. And the Times grudgingly admits that “Trump…took a more combative stance toward China than any U.S. president since Richard Nixon re-established ties with Beijing.”

So why would Russia and China want Trump to be president? Because his administration would bring “chaos” to America:

The second major advantage of a new Trump term for China and Russia is the domestic chaos that could result in the U.S.

Trump governed as no previous American president did. His White House was often disorganized, and his positions could change quickly. A recent example involves China. As president, Trump favored forcing ByteDance, a Chinese company, to sell TikTok, and many congressional Republicans (as well as Democrats) continue to hold this view. But Trump recently reversed his position.

A TikTok flip-flop! Earthshaking. Now we get to the good stuff:

In a second term, the turmoil could increase. Trump has promised to use the government’s power to investigate and potentially jail his political opponents.

Gosh, where could he have gotten that idea? What does the Times think has been going on for more than three years?

He has encouraged his supporters to use violence to get their way.

No, he hasn’t. It is Democrat-aligned groups like BLM that have used force to get their way. But now we get to the climax of the Times’s argument:

And he has so angered many Democrats that they became radicalized on several issues (including Covid lockdowns, immigration and policing) in ways that have divided the party.

Hahahahaha! The Democrats are bats**t crazy, and Trump is to blame! He drove them to it. So the Times’s final argument is that Russia and China should want Trump to be president because Democrats then will be “radical,” i.e. crazy, and divided. Which, of course, they already are, under Joe Biden.

It is just one more instance of how the Democrats’ Trump Derangement Syndrome causes them to lose their minds.
