Announcement: Live Podcast Taping Tomorrow!

It’s been six months since we had a live taping of the Three Whisky Happy Hour podcast, and we’re going to remedy this lapse tomorrow (Friday) evening. John Yoo is away this week on yet another junket and can’t join us, and rather than have a guest host Lucretia and I decided to invite all comers. The taping will go off at 5 pm Pacific/8 pm Eastern, and you can join the webinar on Zoom at this link.  (I’ll repost it tomorrow.)

We’ll take listener questions (and if you’re not able to join us live, post a question or comment in the comment thread below), but we also have in mind taking a step back from the headlines a bit and try to get at some deeper underlying forces at work. We’ll take as our “article of the week” texts two pieces. First, leftist Ian Millhiser’s primal scream at Vox, about why Kagan and Sotomayor need to resign from the Supreme Court right now, and second, an article from a couple years ago by Nathan Pinkoski that highlights the revisionist works of historian Stanley Payne on the Spanish Civil War. This may seem remote from us, but we’ll explain why this new look back on that conflict may shed light on where we are in America today—including why scenarios of a second American civil war are not so far fetched, and why the left will start it.
