Here’s the Latest Cheap Fake

Joe Biden tries to climb into a Suburban:

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre denounced videos of Joe Biden stumbling, falling, wandering off, staring blankly into space, struggling to read a teleprompter, talking gibberish, etc., as “deep fakes.” She then admitted that wasn’t true, but persisted in calling them “cheap fakes.” That is a meaningless term–the dozens of videos that show a dysfunctional Biden are obviously not any kind of fakes–and the Trump campaign has adopted the phrase as its own:

The polls are sending mixed messages, but what’s remarkable is that in the current RealClearPolitics average, Donald Trump leads Biden by only a half point, 46% to 45.5%. A great many Americans wish they had someone else to vote for. Victor Davis Hanson says that “The Left feels it may be heading to an historic 1972 McGovern-like or 1980 Carteresque blowout.” I fervently hope that such fears will be realized, and I myself have said that a president with a record as terrible as Joe Biden’s won’t be re-elected.

But the fact is that if Republicans were running anyone other than Donald Trump against the failed and senile Joe Biden, the election would be a blowout. It is only Trump’s massive unpopularity with half the electorate that keeps Biden in the race. And currently, Democratic Senate candidates are running ahead of Biden in the crucial races, while it seems as likely that the GOP might lose its slim House majority, as that it will decisively expand that majority. I fear that this year’s election might ultimately prove a historic missed opportunity for Republicans and for the American people.
