Democratic National Coup

Top Democrats are bristling with resentments even as they are about to try to put on a united front at the United Center in the Windy City. A coterie of powerful Democrats maneuvered behind the scenes to push an incumbent president out of the race.

One of the most ruthless and successful tacticians in congressional history seemed sheepish about knifing her pal, and conflicted over whether to take credit. Et tu, Nancy? Biden must have thought.

Even though it was the right thing to do, because Joe Biden was not going to be able to campaign, much less serve as president for another four years, in a fully vital way, it was a jaw-dropping putsch.

That was New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, in a piece headlined “The Dems are delighted. But a coup is still a coup.” Good point, but Dowd is late on the call. As Victor Davis Hanson explains, it’s more like coup upon coup upon coup.

We have now witnessed three left-wing veritable coups. In 2020, covert actors decided to ossify the Democratic primary races. Next, they conferred the nomination on a clearly cognitively challenged Joe Biden. He was now tasked with serving as a useful moderate vessel for a virtual, even more radical, Obama third term.

The same operators next assumed virtual control of Biden’s presidential agenda, given his accelerating cognitive decline. When that charade could no longer be sustained, for a third time, they circumvented the normal transparent democratic process.

So, they removed the once useful but now a liability Biden — while insisting that he was still fit enough to keep the left in power — until the anticipated Harris victory in November.

Democrats are now the Coup Clan, and Kamala Harris their chief coup clucker. Joe Biden is okay with it.

“And all this talk about how I’m angry at all those people who said I should step down, it’s not true,” Biden said in his DNC speech Monday. Picking Harris as his running mate, Biden said, was “the best decision I made in my whole career,” and “democracy must be preserved” by electing her in November. If Biden’s use of “democracy” causes confusion, think of the one-party Stalinist regime that called itself the German “Democratic” Republic.
