Bashing Dana

The Biden administration is pushing yet another edition of Russia! Russia! Russia! in collaboration with its media adjunct in the run-up to this year’s election. I have lost count, but I believe this is take 3.

CNN’s Dana Bash sought to contribute to this year’s model in her interview with Senator Tom Cotton yesterday. Senator Cotton has posted video of his segment here on YouTube and I have embedded it below. Bash began with a question about the Cheneys’ endorsement of Kamala Harris. The whole thing is worth watching, but I have isolated the Russia! Russia! Russia! bit at the bottom.

Senator Cotton efficiently disposed of Bash’s question about this year’s Russia! Russia! Russia! model as inconsequential. He also had the presence of mind to recall and contrast it with the 2020 model: “What did make a difference in the last election is the lies about Hunter Biden’s laptop that more than four dozen former intelligence officials lied about in the middle of that campaign — and most networks, including this one — bought that lie hook, line, and sinker. That did make a difference in the election.”

Senator Cotton was of course alluding to the infamous public statement signed by the Deep State 51 that was elicited by Antony Blinken on behalf of the Biden campaign and disseminated by Politico in a story by Natasha Bertrand, now with CNN. We can also add to Senator Cotton’s response: indeed, Dana, as you know, your ex-husband Jeremy Bash was one of those lying former intelligence officials.
