Neria Kraus is a correspondent for Israel’s Channel 13. She was on hand yesterday when President Biden met with Israel’s President Isaac Herzog in the Oval Office. During the photo op, she asked Biden whether he thought he could work out a hostage deal before the end of his term.
The question would better have been directed to the masters of Hamas, but the question wasn’t entirely unreasonable insofar as Biden has conveyed the impression that he has the issue in hand. Yet Biden did not take the question well. He snapped somewhat cryptically: “Do you think you can keep from getting hit in the head by a — a camera behind you?” I take that as a geriatric no.
I asked President Biden if he thinks that he can get a hostage deal done by the end of his term. He answered, commenting on the number of cameramen in the room: “do you think that you can get hit in the head by the camera behind you?” pic.twitter.com/B3DCJoHdaw
