For years, my organization has been battling against a liberal attempt to transform Minnesota’s public schools from educational institutions into far-left indoctrination centers. You might think you understand how evil the Left’s assault on education is, but that is unlikely. It is worse than you probably can imagine.
In 2023, Minnesota’s then-Democratic legislature passed a law that requires every class in every K-12 public school to incorporate “Ethnic Studies” in its curriculum. So if you are a 10th grade geometry teacher, you have to figure out a way to work race into the Pythagorean Theorem. Some schools are already starting to implement this directive. What is the result?
Kids are being taught that racial “identity” is the most important thing in their lives, and that leftist activists are the world’s heroes, while George Washington–for example–was an oppressor. Republicans in Minnesota’s legislature have introduced a bill that would repeal the 2023 Ethnic Studies mandate. This is one of several students who were recruited to testify against that bill in a committee hearing, yesterday:
Democrats are literally trying to dumb down our schools by teaching ignorance.
The first witness to testify in favor of the bill was Katherine Kersten, a Policy Fellow at American Experiment who is probably Minnesota’s best-known conservative writer and activist. For more on this subject, check out the podcast that Kathy and I recorded yesterday. I think you will be shocked by the leftist extremism of the Tim Walz administration. Walz–I am not making this up–put a man who has publicly called for the overthrow of the government of the United States, because we are an evil nation, in charge of a complete revamp of K-12 education in our state.
The first nine minutes or so of the podcast are commentary on a couple of news stories by two of our young staffers. This clip picks up at 9:45, where Kathy and I begin:
The battle we are fighting here in Minnesota is a straightforward conflict between good and evil. If you would like to help us, you can go here to donate to our organization.
