Health Care and Climate Update

Last week I took note of the similarities between the epic collapse of Obamacare and the epic collapse of European climate policy, with the suggestion that the two be merged under the banner “ClimateCare.”  You can guess what happened next:

Hi,

I work for a company called ClimateCare. We are based in the UK and Nairobi, but operate worldwide, funding projects that both cut carbon and improve people’s lives.

Having introduced myself, I expect you know what I’m going to say next. Your recent article by Steven Hayward on 18 January – ‘Why don’t we merge these disasters and call it ‘ClimateCare’ has flagged up to us, as you have used our name ClimateCare – which we do have trademarked internationally, including in the USA.

I’m sure you were unaware of this, but by using our name, written exactly as we write it, for a subject directly related to our work, we are very concerned you will cause confusion for our clients and partners, and potentially damage our reputation by inference.

Could we ask that you do not use our name in this way in future and publish a small addition to the existing article explaining that your reference is in no way related to ‘Climate and Development experts ClimateCare’, perhaps with a link to our website (www.climatecare.org)?

If you are interested in finding out more about what we do to bring governments, NGOs and businesses together to protect the environment and improve the lives of millions of people, do have a look at our website or drop me a line. I could also add you to our media list if you would like me to, just let me know.

Please could you let me know when you have published the information online to rectify this. Thank you (in advance) for your help.
