Nobody’s fool

Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) has decided not to support the Employee Free Choice Act. She says that this Act, under which unions can become the representative of employees in a bargaining unit without winning an election, is not necessary. However, she indicated that she might support such legislation later on. I take her to mean that she might support it if she is re-elected in 2010.

We’ve been watching Lincoln on this and other issues. She may not be the brightest member of the Senate but, as we anticipated, she’s not foolish enough to forfeit her Senate seat for the benefit of liberal special interests groups with little influence in her state.
