Blair Administration Cleared in Iraq Investigation

The Sun is reporting that “Downing Street chief Alastair Campbell will be sensationally cleared next week of tampering with MI6 dossiers.” This relates to the BBC’s assertion that the Blair administration inserted unsupported WMD claims into Britain’s intelligence dossier on Saddam Hussein’s regime. Apparently the heads of Britain’s intelligence agencies have told a Parliamentary committee that the charge is unfounded.
“The ruling will pave the way for heads to roll at the BBC, which has refused to apologise for the claim,” the Sun says. Well, let’s hope so. The BBC needs a shake-up as badly as the New York Times does.
