The war against success

Here is a wonderful column by Thomas Sowell about the war against success that is being waged by the liberal intelligensia in this country. Sowell states the problem with precision when he says, “You might think that those who created [new medicines and technological breakthroughs] would be among our heroes. On the contrary, they are demonized in the media, harassed by the government and sued by lawyers.” Sowell also has at least a partial explanation for this phenomenon — “There is little or no role left for these self-important word-mongers when pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart, cops, and others do the things that make our lives better. The talkers and writers resent being left on the sidelines by the doers.”
