German Anti-Americanism

Here is the cover of the current issue of Germany’s left-wing, but entirely mainstream, Stern magazine:

The headline reads, “How America Lied To the World.” And that photo of Bush–gee, there’s something about that gesture that seems familiar.
German intelligence, of course, reached the same conclusions about Saddam’s weapons that the American agencies did. And, as Deacon has pointed out, it would make no sense for any President to go to war on the basis of a claim that he knew would be discovered to be false as soon as the war was over. But neither truth nor logic is any impediment to the Bush-haters.
