Travis County Follies

If–like me–you haven’t had time to catch up on the recent indictment of three aides to House Majority Leader Tom DeLay by the District Attorney of Travis County, Texas, Peter Flaherty supplies a helpful primer.
It turns out that Ronnie Earle, the Democratic district attorney, is the same guy who once indicted Kay Bailey Hutchison for assault, and actually pursued the trumped-up case until it collapsed during trial and was dismissed.
It is an interesting although not very relevant fact that Travis County is also ground zero for the Rathergate scandal.
