Dick Morris’s retrosepective on the campaign emphasizes the role of blogs: “Elites lost to people power.” Morris’s column reads something like an application of the general theory Bill Bennett articulated earlier this week in “Wither the mainstream media?”
Morris’s column is excellent, but his point might have been enhanced slightly by noting the role that the blogs played in helping the Swift Boat Vets to spread their message in the spring and then to raise money to get their message out through the rest of the campaign.
Morris’s column perfectly complements Deacon’s terrific post on his meeting with Secretary Wolfowitz and the brothers Ali last night: “Enjoying freedom, and extending it.”
