The legacy of Peter Cooper

Harold Holzer’s outstanding, intensely researched book Lincoln At Cooper Union tells you just about everything you should know about Lincoln’s Cooper Union speech. Except who the man responsible for Cooper Union was. Barry Casselman fills in the gap in his column “Peter the Great,” which also previews the February 28 event at Cooper Union’s Great Hall featuring Newt Gingrich and Mario Cuomo that I plan to cover for Power Line, courtesy of Barry’s invitation.
