The party of civil rights

University of Virginia political science professor Gerard Alexander is engaged in the project of writing the true history of the Republican Party as the party of civil rights. Professor Alexander began his project with his 2004 Claremont Review of Books review/essay “The myth of racist Republicans.” Today he continues the project with his Weekly Standard article “The party of civil rights.”
