There will be a bit more bounce in my step tomorrow. The Washington Redskins have just rallied from a 13-0 deficit to defeat the Dallas Cowboys 14-13. Two long passes from Mark Brunell to Santana Moss did the deed. Cowboys coach Bill Parcells had been 77-0 in games where his team held a 13 point lead or more in the fourth quarter.
The Cowboys are our arch-rivals, but we’ve had so little success against them during the past 10 years that I doubt they still consider us as such. Maybe this improbable victory will jump-start the rivalry.
Our Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs has had many great wins, including three Super Bowls. But judging from the reaction of this normally stoic man, I’m guessing that this one ranks near the top.
