Moussaoui conviction upheld

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit has upheld the conviction of Zacarias Moussaoui. The court — in an opinion by Judge Traxler joined by Judges Gregory and Shedd — rejected the terrorist’s claim that he should be retried or resentenced because he was deprived of his constitutional rights.
Moussaoui was sentenced to life imprisonment. My understanding is that he was one holdout juror’s vote away from the death penalty.
