Henry Nowak: Starmer blames Musk

From the BBC,

Starmer accuses Musk of trying to whip up division over Henry Nowak murder.

In this context, “division” means any criticism of the government. I must say that I had never heard about the Nowak case before seeing it mentioned on Twitter (X) last month, as commentary was posted regarding the trial of Nowak’s murderer, Vickrum Digwa, age 23.

Didgwa has since been convicted of murder and sentenced to a mere 21 years in prison for the brutal stabbing death of Nowak, age 18. Police on the scene of the crime last December handcuffed and arrested Nowak, the victim. Nowak died while hearing his rights read to him as he lay bleeding out on the sidewalk.

But the U.K. Prime Minister has concluded that it’s all the fault of Elon Musk for noticing. The BBC notes,

Posting on X on Tuesday, Musk wrote: “Send the video to everyone you know showing how heinously Nowak was treated by the police in his dying moments and how the police cravenly kowtowed to his murderer.

“Legacy mainstream media, same ones who wrote about George Floyd millions of times, are dead silent about Nowak.”

Media have picked up the story since, in the vein of Republicans/ Conservatives/Reformers pounce.

Meanwhile, both the UK Telegraph and the Guardian have separately reported that the so-called “independent” inquiry into the police (in)actions at the crime scene has already exonerated the responding officers of any wrongdoing.

Remain calm. All is well.
