In the tsunami of words following the July 13 shootings, open condemnations of Thomas Matthew Crooks are hard to find. Donald Trump was his primary target, but the pasty-faced 20-year-old may have sought to inspire other assassins. Before they attempt any copy-cat action, Biden Youth types might train by calling on old guys from the Baby Boom generation. If they go that way, there’s a few realities to consider.
That was the generation conscripted to fight in Vietnam. Some American soldiers were issued a flashlight and pistol and sent into tunnel complexes where they faced booby traps, poisonous snakes, and of course VC troops. Those “tunnel rats” are not afraid of anything, and will know how to ward off any attack.
A hostile Biden Youth prospect might also encounter a former collegiate wrestler. This person may look vulnerable, but he still knows how to get an attacker on the ground in seconds. Old guys not on the wrestling or football team may still have flattened the schoolyard bully at some point. Even in advanced age, appearances can be deceiving.
During the 1960s, more than a few boomers dropped out of society, with all that entails. By divine providence, some managed to drop back in, earn a living, and raise a family. These types now find their children and grandchildren’s future threatened by the woke-Stalinist junta fronted by Joe Biden. As he showed in his September 1, 2022 speech, Biden regards those who want the nation to be great as a menace. That could be easily be construed as justification for violence against them. As Trump likes to say, it’s really you they’re after.
If some Biden Youth punk confronts one of these boomers, he might wind up looking like a hunchback. So before calling out the old guy, ask yourself: do I feel lucky? Well, do you ya punk?
Meanwhile, everybody should be asking how a 20-year-old with no operational training could gain the ideal position to fire eight shots, one wounding Donald Trump, one killing Corey Comperatore, and two others wounding David Dutch and James Copenhaver. See former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino for the latest on SS lapses during the rally. Over at Frontpage, Mark Tapson wonders, “who is the most likely candidate to have green-lit the security failures leading to Trump being shot, and possibly even given the go-ahead to the shooter himself?”
As Kierkegaard might say, assassination attempts happen forward but can only be understood backward. Monday’s hearing with SS boss Kimberly “slope roof” Cheatle should prove fascinating.
