The Daily Chart: “Latinx” Still Not Catching On

The Pew Research Center is out with new survey data on the identity label the left prefers for Hispanics, the mockable “Latinx.” Awareness of the label among Hispanics has increased substantially over the past few years, but—they still don’t like it, and almost no actual Hispanics (outside of faculty roomsAA) use it. In fact, the proportion of Hispanics who think the term shout not be use has risen:

So we have another case of white liberals insisting what a minority group should call itself, because it makes white liberals feel better about themselves. Nice way to respect a culture and native language.

P.S. There is reported to be survey data showing a large majority of Native Americans supported using “Redskins” as the NFL team name, and would like to have it back.
