Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez flopped in her first major appearance on the world stage, to the point where she became a laughingstock. When she fumbled around trying to answer basic foreign policy questions, many were reminded of a famous video clip from years ago, starring Miss Teen South Carolina. To be fair, Miss Teen South Carolina was just that–a teen. She was a lovely young lady who I hope has gone on to a happy and successful life. Ocasio-Cortez is not a teenage pageant contestant, she is a supposed candidate for President of the United States. As such, she has been aptly described as the first cocktail waitress in history who brought nothing to the table.
