That’s Graham Platner. The drama continues, with Platner refusing to give up his Senate nomination. Byron York thinks there is a chance he might stick it out:
By the way, did you know that Platner claims to be 100% disabled, and therefore lives on veterans’ disability benefits? Apparently being 100% disabled doesn’t prevent you from being a Senator.
This is the Executive Director of Maine’s Democratic Party. She sounds desperate as she demands that Platner withdraw:

But Platner is doggedly hanging in there. He continues to pose as a leader of the socialist movement within the Democratic Party. This missive to his supporters reminds me of Ted Kennedy’s ploy in the wake of Chappaquiddick. Maybe, like Kennedy, Platner will claim that he is staying in the race due to popular demand.
Per source, Platner campaign has sent volunteers this two-question survey w a 48-hour deadline.

There have always been pitfalls for politicians, but welfare fraud has not traditionally been a problem for Senate candidates. We really are living in a new political world.
All I can say is, hang in there, Graham! We want to see you on the ticket in November.
