Chief Justice Rehnquist Has Died
Chief Justice William Rehnquist died tonight of thyroid cancer, opening up a second Supreme Court seat just three days before hearings begin on Judge John Roberts' confirmation. I assume President Bush will want to wait until Roberts has been confirmed before naming his second nominee.
