The death and life of Captain America

In “Captain America, RIP” in today’s Wall Street Journal, Weekly Standard online editor Jonathan Last provides a hugely entertaining report on the death of Captain America. I used to think that some conservative publication should provide a “patriotic alert” for the usual Hollywood fare that has an anti-American plot twist buried in action and suspense films marketed to general audiences. I didn’t know that superhero comics might warrant the same kind of warning, but that is only one of the surprises (to me, at least) in Jonathan’s excellent column.
UPDATE: At Galley Slaves, Jonathan adds: “For whatever it’s worth, this is the most fun I’ve ever had as a writer.”
