Ralph Nader’s utopia

In yesterday’s Wall Street Journal Rob Long reviewed Ralph Nader’s 733-page novel Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us! Nader calls his novel “a practical utopia.” In place of philosopher kings, Nader posits Meliorists (the super-rich of the title). Nader’s “practical utopia” sounds a lot like Barack Obama’s. Indeed, reading Long’s review, I wonder if Nader’s utopia hasn’t been overtaken by Obama’s. In any event, Long supplies the humor of which both utopias have a critical shortage.
