More on God and Jerusalem

Politico reports that President Obama personally demanded that the Democrats’ platform be amended to bring back references to God and to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel (funny, because until now neither Obama nor his spokesmen could figure out where Israel’s capital is).

The motion to amend was voted down by the delegates twice, and on the third vote the chairman announced that the motion to amend the platform had passed, even though most observers thought it plainly hadn’t. I guess we know now what the Democrats really think about God and Israel. Today’s disarray appears to be the big story of the convention so far.
