The madness of King Gorge

Bob Woodward has been blowing the whistle on Obamaworld full of lies on the sequester, most recently over the weekend in a Washington Post column. It’s a great old-fashioned story in a number of respects, which was the point I tried to make in my Obamaworld post. In any event, it seems to have Woodward’s juices flowing. This morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Woodward blasted Obama’s “madness” for letting budget considerations influence military policy (as Atlantic Wire puts it.) The video is below.

Woodward has struck a nerve in Obamaworld. On CNN this evening Woodward said that a “very senior person” at the White House warned him in an email that he would “regret doing this[.]” CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined (transcript and video here).

Well, it worked on John Roberts, why not Bob Woodward? Woodward may prove to have more spine than the Chief Justice of the United States. We can only hope. In any event, Woodward is, so to speak, right on the money. Thus the, ah, sensitivity over in Obamaworld. As I say, it’s a helluva story.

UPDATE: Politico has more here.

AND MORE: BuzzFeed’s Ben Smith identifies the Obamaworld enforcer as Gene Sperling.
