Major E. to Senator Kerry

Major Eric Egland has forwarded us a copy of the letter he sent to Senator Kerry’s office yesterday:

Senator Kerry,
Please apologize to the troops for telling college students that they
should get educated or they would end up “stuck in Iraq.”
I am one of the apparent “dummies” who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Before that, I earned two graduate degrees and an undergraduate degree
from the US Air Force Academy, having turned down UC Berkeley.
The deployed troops are intelligent, brave patriots who deserve better
from politicians who claim to support them.
I encourage you to acknowledge that you were catering to the liberal
assumption that people only enter the military because they lack better options.
Just be honest. The troops deserve it.
Not very respectfully,
Major Eric Egland
