Another “Minnesota man” charged

Anyone into pattern recognition knows what the latest story featuring a “Minnesota man” will have to say. Another “Minnesota man” was charged yesterday with conspiring to support ISIS. His name is Abdirizak Mohamed Warsame. He is 20 years old. He lives in Eagan, a suburb of St. Paul situated between the suburb where John lives and the suburb where I live. Way too close for comfort.

The story is an add-on to the charges brought against the six “Minnesota men” this past April. Warsame was the leader of the pack. Warsame is a first or second generation Somali Muslim immigrant to the Twin Cities. What’s Islam got to do with it? His story prominently features an unnamed local mosque. He wanted to join the jihad being waged by Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. He wanted his buddies to join him over there.

Something’s happening here. For the rest of the story, see my Weekly Standard article “The threat from ‘Minnesota men.'”
