The Daily Chart: Who Has the ‘Gender Gap’ Problem?

It has been a common trope of the media and the commentariat class that Republicans suffer from a “gender gap,” because women prefer Democrats to Republicans. But in fact a closer look at the longitudinal data show that the gender gap opened up because men began shifting more fully to Republicans a long time ago. This is a great example of ideologically-driven narratives. The media fix on the “gender gap” with women because women are a certified victim group to the left, with men as the oppressors, especially melanin-challenged men. Shouldn’t the question be, why are Democrats struggling with men?

Daniel Cox at AEI points out that there was a “13-point gender gap in voting preferences in 2016. Fifty-four percent of women voted for Clinton compared to only 41 percent of men. The gender gap shrunk considerably in the following presidential election when Biden replaced Clinton as the Democratic nominee—women supported Biden over men by only a modest margin. ”

Well guess what’s back?
