As everyone knows, today is Columbus Day, though of course the Wokerati insist that we call it “Indigenous People’s Day.” Kamala Harris once supported changing the name of the holiday to that title, as the video below recalls.
Be sure to take in the whole thing (the Lizzie Warren cameo at the end is a Mastercard/masterclass moment), where Kamala attacks the early American explorers for “spreading disease,” as if 15th and 16th century explorers and colonizers knew all about germs and viruses.
It is true that huge portions of indigenous Americans died from diseases transmitted by European explorers—as many as 90 percent in some estimates. But as I once asked anthropologist Charles Mann, what would have happened if the direction of exploration had been reversed—that is, what if Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas had sailed across the Atlantic to Spain, Portugal, or other European lands first? (They did have ocean-going boats after all, and likely would have made the trip at some point.) They all would have died for the same reason—no immunity to European diseases.
But for the woke culture of repudiation, anything will do as a club. By the way, did you hear the news that apparently Columbus has some Sephardic Jewish ancestry? That makes him even more hateful to the wokerati.
Anyway, here’s some useful counter-programming for today:
