As John notes, death threats have been made against a number of Trump’s cabinet picks, including John Ratcliffe (CIA) and Elise Stefanik (UN ambassador). It’s possible that the threats are hoaxes but “by far the most likely possibility is that this is another instance of the Trump Derangement Syndrome and the propensity toward violence that have characterized the Democratic Party for years.”
John cites James Hodgkinson, a member of the online group “Terminate the Republican Party,” who in 2017 opened fire on Republicans as they played baseball. The Bernie Sanders acolyte fired at least 70 rounds, seriously wounding Steve Scalise, Rep. Roger Williams staffer Zach Barth, and lobbyist Matt Mika. The FBI did nothing to prevent the attack, played no role in the takedown of Hodgkinson, and tried to pass off an act of political terrorism as “suicide by cop.” That recalls the attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.
With the vaunted Secret Service on hand, a 20-year-old with no tactical experience easily gained a rooftop and unleashed eight shots, wounding Trump, killing Corey Comperatore and wounding two other attendees. In his first statement after the shooting, FBI director Christopher Wray said Trump might have been hit by “shrapnel,” not one of the eight bullets from the aspiring assassin.
The FBI says it’s aware of the threats against the Trump picks but the targets should not be comforted. Recall that the FBI failed to prevent the first attack on the World Trade Center, the second attack on 9/11/2001, the terrorist mass murder at Fort Hood in 2009, the bombing of the Boston Marathon in 2013, the terrorist mass murders in San Bernardino in 2015 and Orlando in 2016, all with massive loss of life. The FBI played no role in the takedown of the terrorists, which might encourage those now threatening the Trump picks or Trump himself, and possibly Vance and other elected officials.
John calls out Democrats’ increasing propensity to violence, and in similar style Orwell warned about “men who think in slogans and talk in bullets.” Remember too that the Biden-Harris administration brought in, by some counts, more than 10 million illegals from many nations with no criminal background checks. So in a variation on John’s headline, it’s dangerous to be an American.
