Having opened our borders to many millions of illegal immigrants, Democrats now argue that it is impossible, or impractical, to send them back where they came from. In their view, once an illegal crosses the border he is home free. The sheer scale of their malfeasance makes it impossible to do anything about it.
NBC’s Kristen Welker runs that theory past Marco Rubio, and he is having none of it. Note how Walker’s “gotcha” series is carefully prepared and follows DNC talking points, one after another:
Marco Rubio destroys Kristen Walker in his defense of mass deportations. Absolutely brilliant answer.
Seriously this is how absolutely every single Republican must talk about deportations because this is the truth and this is where we are as a country because of the last four… pic.twitter.com/oyDK8MHJdl

It took years for the Democrats to get us into this mess, and it will take years for Republicans to get us out of it, even partially. But that is the worst possible reason to defer the task.
Basically, the Democrats are saying that they screwed up the immigration situation so completely that it is too late for Republicans to fix it. One thing is clear: the most necessary measure is to make it dangerous to employ illegals. By “dangerous,” I mean risking a prison sentence. Mitt Romney once said that under the right conditions, illegals would self-deport. He was right. How will illegals leave the country? The same way they got here.
UPDATE: The Telegraph reports today:
Nearly two thirds of convicted rapists in Sweden are migrants or second generation immigrants
Nearly two thirds of convicted rapists in Sweden are migrants or second generation immigrants, a new study has found.
Researchers at Lund University found that 63 per cent of convictions for rape or attempted rape were handed down to people born abroad, or whose parents were born abroad.
