The Law, With Entertainment Value

Legal issues of various kinds are always in the news, perhaps now more than ever. If you are interested in understanding legal issues from a conservative perspective, and don’t mind a little entertainment, you should check out the brand new Rationally BASED Podcast. It is hosted by Ilan Wurman, a young law professor at the University of Minnesota, along with Kathryn Johnson and Grace Keating, who also host the American Experiment Podcast.

All three hosts are based, so when you listen to this podcast you are among friends. The charm of the podcast comes in part from the fact that Grace and Kathryn are not afraid to ask the questions that the rest of us would ask if we had the opportunity. I don’t think you will find a more lively and entertaining window onto the world of law and politics.

This week’s episode, Habeas Corpus Chaos, covers a number of timely topics. I encourage you to check it out:

Among other things, Ilan is the country’s top expert on the issue of birthright citizenship. He wrote a long article on the subject, the intended audience for which is the U.S. Supreme Court. He has another article on the subject in the current issue of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. If, in a case now before the Supreme Court, the Court decides that the children of illegal aliens are not entitled to citizenship under the 14th Amendment, which I think is quite possible, it will be largely due to Ilan’s efforts.

So I encourage you to give Rationally BASED a listen.
