Jews are under assault in Mayor Madman’s New York City. Would you have the temerity to wear a mezuzah around your neck or a kipot on your head in public? Would you have the gall to gather for services at a local congregation? The New York Post reports “An anti-Israel mob clashed with counter-protesters near a Brooklyn synagogue on Monday night — less than a week after a similar demonstration rocked Manhattan.”
The current Post headline refers to last week’s mob that materialized outside a Manhattan synagogue. The Post reported that story in “Hateful anti-Israel mob descends on historic NYC synagogue, clashes with cops in rowdy protest.” How rowdy can you get?
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon is on the case. Today the Post also reports “Rowdy anti-Israel NYC protesters could be hit with federal charges, DOJ threatens.”
The Post headlines refer to the animus on display as “anti-Israel.” That is nasty, but the animus goes beyond the Jewish state to the Jewish people. In tune with the mayor, the New York mobs are wildly anti-Semitic.
The Daily Signal’s Jarrett Stepman compiles X posts depicting this past Monday’s mob in an excellent round-up/review: “The Intifada Comes to Brooklyn Under New York’s Socialist Mayor.” A mob grows in Brooklyn.
The Manhattan Institute’s Rafael Mangual picks up the vibe.
Masked thugs marching through Midwood to express their hatred of the Jews… KKK vibes. Disgusting, evil, and cowardly. But this is Zohran’s NYC now, so buckle up. https://t.co/E2VCqQC48V

This is not an “anti-Israel” mob. Case closed.
This is a guy leading a march through the Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn with a Hezbollah flag earlier tonight.
Hezbollah is a terrorist organization responsible for the deaths of 300+ American citizens.
This march is intended to intimidate and terrorize New York’s Jewish… pic.twitter.com/7mnjLBxJsH

Michael Oren is the prominent historian and former Isaeli ambassador to the United States. In his Clarity post “Beyond the precipice,” he sketches the challenge facing Israel. To my point, Oren writes: “Thinly disguised as anti-Zionism, Jew hatred has been normalized in America. Elsewhere—in Canada, Australia, and Europe—it has metastasized. Young generations throughout the West, fed by an endless stream of anti-Israel posts, now view us as the source of all evil in the Middle East, if not the world.”
