Power Line: We’re Everywhere!

The novelist C. J. Box (Chuck, to his friends) emailed me tonight to say that he and his wife were finishing up a long hike in Yellowstone National Park when they came across this sign:

Chuck says: “I thought: ‘I’d take that trail!'” If you are not familiar with C. J. Box’s work, you should check it out. His web site is here. He is best known for the Joe Pickett series, which stars a Wyoming game warden and has become one of the world’s most popular thriller series. In addition, Chuck has written a number of stand-alone books set in the West, of which Back of Beyond, one of two books he has set in Yellowstone, is a favorite of mine. If you haven’t made C. J. Box’s acquaintance, you should buy one of his books. They are exciting and fun; as an added bonus, you don’t have to worry about gratuitously offensive political observations, as Chuck is a solid conservative. What more can you ask? I would suggest starting at the beginning of the Pickett series, with Open Season.

Plus, he named a character after me in his latest book, Force of Nature; how cool is that?
