Health Care Crisis?

This is how Kamala Harris demagogues the abortion issue, which Democrats consider their lifeline to political survival:

“Donald Trump’s Supreme Court”? Please. Trump appointed three of nine members of the Court, and, for what it is worth, Trump himself is a moderate on the issue.

I don’t know what Harris means by “ban.” I am not sure there is a single state where abortion is illegal in all cases; certainly it isn’t true that one-third of women live in such states. Among other things, the morning-after pill is, I believe, legal in all states.

But most sickening is Harris’s reference to a “health care crisis.” Abortion, whether you are for it or against it, is not health care. And the fact that some women may have to go to a different state for an abortion, if they have waited too long or don’t fit an exception in the state where they live, is hardly a crisis. If there is a health care crisis associated with the issue, I would say it resides in states like Minnesota where it is now legal, in some instances, to kill babies who have been born–the ultimate in “abortion.”
