Anatomy of a Jerk

In New York City, there is an exhibit honoring the victims of Gaza’s October 7 massacres. A week ago, many Jews attended an event there. Leaving the event on the subway, they were harassed by a “masked mob of pro-Hamas demonstrators,” including one masked man who accosted a group of Jews on the subway and demanded that “Zionists” raise their hands, warning, “This is your chance to get out.” That anti-Jewish “activist” has now been identified as Christopher Husary. And nothing about his history will surprise you:

The craven, masked pro-Palestine protester who made the front page of The Post after he allegedly accosted a Jewish man on the subway is a privileged, bicoastal agitator who still lives with mommy and daddy in their $1.8 million California home, The Post can reveal.

Of course he is!

Christopher Khamis Victor Husary is an America-hating, former business major with arrests tied to protests in California and NYC — where he even scored a $17,000 payday last month after he claimed he was beaten by cops during a 2020 Black Lives Matter protest in Brooklyn, records show.

These people, in a perverse way, are pros. Sometimes they even make it pay.

Husary says that his “father is from Palestine and his mother is from Jerusalem.” I suppose there is some chance that could be true, but as far as we know, his parents are not out harassing Jews.

The most salient fact about Israel haters is that they are also, virtually without exception, America haters:

“Israel is a terror organization and so is America. The number one terrorist is America,” he declared from his childhood bedroom.

Of course! The Great Satan and the Little Satan, the al Qaeda doctrine that has been adopted by America’s left. As proclaimed from the activist’s childhood bedroom, from which he doesn’t have the wherewithal to move up.

Since graduating from college, his work history has been sporadic at best, with jobs such as dog-walking and “filmmaking.” The self described activist “since the womb” called himself a photojournalist who’s worked music festivals, including Coachella.

This is why, at age 36, he lives with his parents. His real job has been far-left activism:

His arrests date back to at least 2008, with two misdemeanor cases in Alameda County, Calif., records show.
In January, he was hit with felony arson, robbery and hate crimes charges during a protest in El Cerrito, Calif., where he allegedly attacked a woman, snatched her Israeli flag and set it on fire, according to reports and a criminal complaint.

He quickly posted a hefty $250,000 bail, authorities said.

Husary claimed “a group” whose name he didn’t know paid the bail. The Contra Costa County District Attorney which is prosecuting Husary also said they didn’t know who supplied the cash.

There is always money available to support far-left criminals.

Lacking meaningful employment, Husary has participated in a full calendar of far-left activism:

Since Oct. 7, Husary has become a itinerant agitator: social media posts show him participating and leading Hamas-supporting protesters at Columbia and Stanford universities, and participating in a pro-Hamas demonstration in Washington D.C.

Husary îs an exemplar of the modern leftist foot soldier: a failure, a person of little intelligence, a hater of the United States and of the free market economy in which he has never participated, a pawn who will go wherever leftist winds blow him–these days, into anti-Semitism.

A number of thinkers have made a powerful case that anti-Semitism is a unique historical phenomenon. I think that in some ways, that is certainly true. But a loser like Husary illustrates the other side of the coin. Anti-Semitism is also one of a number of stupid doctrines that can be spun up at will by the leftist puppet-masters who control fools like Husary. Their real enemy is never Israel, it is always America, and, ultimately, freedom. Scratch an anti-Semite and you will pretty much always find an anti-American.

As individuals, these people are pitiful at best. But there is a great deal of left-wing money behind them.
