While we await the outcome of the Biden Crime Family meeting at Camp David today, let us take prominent note of the other senescent institution right in front of our noses: the media.
Here’s Axios yesterday:
Joe Biden’s close aides have carefully shielded him from people inside and outside the White House since the beginning of his presidency.
You’re telling us now?
Likewise the Wall Street Journal has reported:
The World Saw Biden Deteriorating
European officials had already been expressing worries in private about Biden’s focus and stamina before Thursday’s debate, with some senior diplomats saying they had tracked a noticeable deterioration in the president’s faculties in meetings since last summer. There were real doubts about how Biden could successfully manage a second term, but one senior European diplomat said U.S. administration officials in private discussions denied there was any problem. . .
Biden missed the [G-7] summit’s dinner party in a medieval castle, an off-camera and less- scripted part of the summit in which leaders often exchange views more candidly. He was the only G-7 leader not to attend the meal; the White House told reporters in advance he wouldn’t be there because it would be a “jam-packed two days” of meetings. Biden instead held an event with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and had a news conference.
Officials said that Biden’s performance and focus can vary significantly between meetings and even within a meeting. Two senior European officials cited a European Union-U.S. summit in October in Washington at which Biden struggled to follow the discussions. Both said he stumbled over his talking points at several moments, requiring Secretary of State Antony Blinken to intervene and point out the lines he should use.
The world noticed, but our media suppressed it, and went with the “missing context” “deceptively edited” line from the White House? (To be fair, the Wall Street Journal took a lot of flak for their story a few weeks back about Biden’s deterioration.)
We clearly need Dr. Kervorkian back to do a mercy killing of our senescent media, though their unassisted suicide attempt appears to be working, albeit slowly.
Meanwhile, the left continues to rage that the CNN moderators didn’t do enough to help out Biden—note the unstated premise here that of course the media is supposed to take one side of the debate. Looks like someone has hacked Dan Rather’s Twitter account:
Assuming this is genuine (likely it is) this may be the most un-self-aware Tweet in all of human history.
P.S. There’s only one argument that might persuade Edith Wilson Jill Biden to get Joe to drop out: If he irresponsibly insists on staying on the ticket and leads Democrats to a landslide loss in November, he will be held in lower regard than Jimmy Carter after 1980. Carter was persona non grata in the Democratic Party for years after, but managed to rehabilitate himself with his “elder statesman” act as champion of Habitat for Humanity, scourge of Guinea Worm Disease, etc. Biden won’t have a decade to rebuild his reputation. He’ll go down in history as the person whose endless vanity and personal selfishness ushered Donald Trump back into the White House. Someone needs to put it directly to Dr. Jill: Do you really want to humiliate your husband for all time?
Extra P.S. If Trump really wants to stir the pot, he should announce today that if he is elected president, he will issue a blanket pardon to the entire Biden family for any and all crimes they may have committed. He can paraphrase Jerry Ford: let’s put this national nightmare behind us.
