It has been noted that many Europeans seemed disappointed at our successful rescue of the downed airmen in Iran, as were many Democrats. But you know who was happy about it? Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seemed almost giddy:

I have seen reports, which I think are confirmed, that Israeli special forces units participated in the rescue mission. In any event, Netanyahu is correct in describing the “no man left behind” ethos as a common feature of Israel’s culture and ours.
