Peggy Flanagan is the far-left Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota. She has been present throughout Tim Walz’s disastrous tenure in office, but has left little mark. If she is known for anything, it is 1) being part Native American, and 2) holding down the farthest left position on the political spectrum. Flanagan is now running for Minnesota’s vacant seat in the U.S. Senate and, despite her radicalism (or on account of it) she has been endorsed by pretty much all the prominent Democrats, from Bernie Sanders to Ilhan Omar to current Senator Tina Smith.
Flanagan has been a flamboyant leftist, appearing in a hijab…
…and advocating child genital mutilation:
Flanagan has not explained the significance of the knife: whether it is used to slice off genitals, or to murder people who don’t go along with “trans” ideology.
Flanagan is anti-American, and cheered the destruction of the statue of Christopher Columbus that had stood for many years on the grounds of Minnesota’s Capitol.
She now explains that her campaign for the Senate is one of vengeance:
My story is a Minnesota story. I grew up on the margins, relying on programs MN invested in to get by.
Now, I’m running to help Minnesotans get ahead – and avenge all that’s been taken from us.https://t.co/IZUEcGEn0X

She wants to “avenge all that has been taken from us.” So, who is “us”? And what supposedly has been taken from us?
The link goes to a story about Flanagan in The Nation, a bitterly anti-American, socialist or Communist magazine. You have to read the whole, long story to get to the vengeance at the end. It seems that Flanagan mostly wants revenge against Republicans for trying to enforce our immigration laws. You know, like the Constitution says the president is obligated to do:
“I want to avenge Minnesota!” she told me that night at Hai Hai, raising her voice. “You don’t get to just leave; you have to repair this. The love, the solidarity here has been great, but you don’t just get to do this to us. God willing, when we get power back, everything they’ve done has to be undone. Everybody has to be prosecuted.”
So Flanagan isn’t kidding about revenge! “Everybody has to be prosecuted.” Everybody, I take it, in the Trump administration. Prosecuted for what? God only knows. But the Democrats twice tried to jail President Trump, during the time he was out of office, on the most absurd grounds anyone has ever seen. So we know that if they set out to prosecute political enemies, they won’t let the lack of a case stand in their way.
I hope that when Minnesotans vote in the Fall they will keep in mind that one of the candidates for the U.S. Senate is a fanatic who wants to throw those who disagree with her into prison.
